Welcome to Novellaire. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and services. By using novellaire.com or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Novellaire produces AI-narrated audiobooks from manuscripts you provide. We offer two paid tiers (Indie and Studio), a free first chapter sample, and custom inquiries for special projects. Delivery, pricing, and feature details are described on our pricing and order pages and are part of these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into binding contracts to use our paid service. By placing an order, you represent that you meet these requirements.
You represent and warrant that:
You retain full ownership of your manuscript and the audiobook we produce from it. We claim no ongoing rights, royalties, or licenses to your work. Once delivered, the audio files are yours to sell, distribute, license, or give away on any platform.
If you submit a reference recording for voice cloning, you represent that the voice is your own, or that you have explicit written consent from the voice owner. We will not produce a voice clone of any third party (including public figures, deceased persons, or other authors' voices) without verifiable written consent. We reserve the right to refuse any voice cloning request.
Prices are calculated based on your declared word count and tier (Indie at $40 per finished hour or Studio at $80 per finished hour, with one finished hour estimated at approximately 9,300 words). Final price is rounded to the nearest $5. The price you see on the order page is the price you pay. Stripe processes all card payments; we do not see or store your card details.
Payment is due in full at the time of order. We do not bill on delivery and do not offer payment plans at this time.
Delivery timeframes start when we have received both your full payment and a working manuscript link. Currently:
Business days exclude US weekends and federal holidays. If we anticipate a delay, we will notify you in advance via email and offer a partial refund or revised timeline at your option.
The free first chapter is offered with no obligation to purchase. We render and deliver chapter one of your book at Indie quality so you can evaluate our voice, pacing, and production. There is no follow-up sales pressure. If you decide not to proceed, that's the end of the engagement and you owe nothing.
We deliver mastered audio files that have passed our multi-layer validation pipeline (transcription comparison against your manuscript, automated re-rendering of misreads, professional mastering). Despite this, no production process is perfect.
To request revisions, reply to your delivery email within 14 days of receipt. Revision turnarounds are typically 1–3 business days.
Because we begin production immediately on receiving your order and incur material compute costs, we cannot offer full refunds after production begins. Specifically:
You agree not to use Novellaire to:
We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service for any project that violates these terms or that we determine, at our sole discretion, to be harmful or unethical.
The Novellaire website, branding, voice models, and production pipeline are owned by us. You receive a license to the audio output we produce for your project, but no rights to our underlying technology or other customers' work.
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, except as required by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that produced audio will meet every subjective preference.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Novellaire's total liability to you for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost sales of your audiobook.
You agree to indemnify and hold Novellaire harmless from any claims arising from content you submitted to us, your use of the service in violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third party's rights.
You may stop using Novellaire at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, indemnification, limitations of liability) will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. If changes are material, we will notify active customers by email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Novellaire is registered, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising under these Terms will first be addressed in good faith via direct communication. Unresolved disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts of that jurisdiction.
